Typing in password the bar shakes and nothing happens

After I type in the password and hit enter the box that contains the password shakes back and forth and nothing happens from there doesn't give a hint like I the wrong password

Did you forget your password? Did you use caps or mixed case or forget to disable the caps lock?

The lack of the hint could be because you failed to supply one.

Do you have a recovery disk to book your system? Give that a try.
