I changed the inverter board but the screen is still not working!

My screen suddenly turned very dark.

The computer is on but the brightness is zero.

Right now, I can only set the brightness to 1,

it's the only way the computer stays long enough for me to work on it.

But it's annoying that I cannot see in full brightness and keeps turning dark again suddenly.

I thought the inverter board was broken, so I bought a new one and replaced it but it's still the same.

I turned off the automatic display light setting, and have tried

resetting everything but it didn't help either.

Should I change the inverter cable? or the lcd screen? or both?:(

I'm a college student, so I can't afford a new computer..:(

Please, help!

Cable first

it's cheaper, then the screen if that's not the problem.

I'm going to try connecting my laptop to the external monitor, if it works fine, then can I be sure that the cable is broken? not the lcd screen?

Was the MacBook dropped before the lightning problem started ? If so the backlight (CCF lamp) or the logic board could also be the culprit.

No, It started when I left my computer on to get some lunch..I ordered the inverter board from some web site It's older than my original inverter board. I unplugged the black cable on the left side to test it, the computer lights up but when I put it to full brigtness, it gets dark again. Do you think I bought a broken one? Should I get a refund?

I would try the external monitor before doing anything else.If it works there it could be the cable or LCD-if not you probably have a logic board problem Ralph +
