9.2 OS, no admin. password, how can I get in?

Had OSX 10.1, inadvertantly overrode with 9.2. Is it possible to delete admin. password requirement? Can I buy a used larger hard drive with later OSX and put it into this unit? Thanks

If I knew which G4 you have what speed and how much RAM I could give you a much more specific answer. But here's where you can get all manner of older system software: http://fastmac.com/osx.php

You can install up to OSX 10.4 on this machine. With the addition of another 128 MEG RAM stick. Here's the system requirements: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1514

You can then also add the System 9 OS to be able to run in "Classic Mode".

Your machine has four RAM slots. It will takes up to 2 GB of PC 100 SDRAM DIMM's. Here's some available sticks: http://www.ramdirect.com/vcom/index.php?...

You can also either add or exchange the Hard drive. A second drive can be placed on top of the first one. The cable support is already there. Just make sure the new drive is a ATA or IDE and under 128 MB. You will need to set the jumpers on the drives (one to Master and one to Slave).

Do you have the original installation CD's that came with the machine? If not, a quick Google search will yield you results.

Thanks for your reply. No, I don't have the original installation CD's as I purchased it used and seller did not have them. What info should I input to Google to try to find installation CD's?

Thanks again!
