My power button and screen will not work

I recently replaced my iPods battery and screen, but when I try to turn it on the power button does not work and when I manage to get it on( by charging it) the screen is not responsive to my touch. The home button works and the volume buttons. What do I do? Please I need help

Chosen Solution

First check connections relating to faulty parts. Ensure they are pressed in. If this persists then you will have to repair the Lock/Power button and replace the lcd.

I would say that it's mainly a connection issue. It's happened to me before.

Okay so I just bought a new power lock button cable and I will replace that soon, but now whenever I press the home button or put it up to charge a plane white screen appears.... what do I do now? Thank you by the way
