After screen replacement phone works but display doesn't .

Hi,i have two iPhone 4s wich i bought of eBay,the previous owners said that they replaced the Display and then the phone was not working anymore,i managed to get them working but Display stays black,i tried with different Displays and none of them work. And one of them gets really hot when plugged in,but it does have a bad battery connector wich i'll have to fix,can this be the problem ?

Options

Make sure your not 'pinching' the cable when looping it through the frame. Very common issue.

My problem is that I can see the backlight turning on but no display. When I plug in the old screen it works but still cracked
