What to do when my App Store freezes for more than day?

i was checking for updates on my OS X . i then clicked on the garage band update. then nothing happened. the App Store window just froze for 4 days till now. please tell me what to do. i need extreme help. thank you

Options

The app requires a force quit. In a chord, press command-option-escape, then select the App Store from the list of applications, then press the "Force Quit" button. Note that this will kill the app and lose any progress that you have.

You can then re-open it and attempt the operation again.
