The Toshiba Satellite L300 was a notebook designed and sold by Toshiba that came with a version of Windows Vista. They were sold around May-June 2009 and while ineligible for the free 7 upgrade, time past and upgrades are unclaimable now, run 7 home premium well without upgrades mainly because of Vista's resource hog quality. Also known as Toshiba Satellite L300-04P (PSLB8C-04P01X).

Power supply won't connect

Hi

The post inside my laptop that the power cord goes onto doesn't seem to make a connection anymore. If you put something in there you can see that the post moves around pretty freely so it must have either broken or come loose. Is there a way for me to fix this or do I need to find a repair centre?

Thanks!!

Hi, This seems to be a common problem with the Toshiba. Here is a link to a successful mod to repair the problem. Please pay special attention to the cautions the modder makes and read all the way through before deciding to do this. Good luck. Ralph

After you take apart the laptop, if it is just a loose connector, you should be able to just solder it back in place.

I have this happening to my Toshiba again - third time since I began using it in December 09. Going to try the workaround to see if I can avoid buying yet ANOTHER power supply. Thanks!

Using Toshiba Satellite Radius 14 and worst laptop ever. Power cord doesn't keep connection after 1 year and on their website they want $55! The screen broke on one side at 7 months when your supposed to be able to make a tablet, never again.
