Replaced LCD, still not working

Recently i dropped my iPhone in a bar and cracked the screen. For some reason the LCD wasnt working either so i had assumed that the LCD had broken too. Either way i replaced both the digitizer and the LCD panel. For some reason, this still didnt work when i had plugged it in

I assumed this might be because i removed and replaced the screen once it was still on. Somewhere it suggested removing the battery to reset it, which i did, running the battery first before reopening. but still no avail.

One other point was that the phone cracked (badly) around the top of the lcd, and that the LCD connector comes loose very easily, even when firmly snapped in.

The phone still works fine, the vibrate/ring switch still makes it viabrate and the phone manages to onnect with itunes still.

Any ideas? im considering buying a full front assembly on ebay to see if that works as it might be a faulty display to start with.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Ok so a new LCD seemed to fix it. It slipped right in and clicked into place so luckily there was nothing wrong on the logic board. However this new screen is pretty yellow.

way to much yellow or the "regular" iPhone 3G yellow problem ??

Is the screen white (backlight on) or black (backlight off)?

did you try to to reset it ?

press and hold the home and the sleep button at the same time until the phone restarts (will take around 10 seconds(i know that you might see nothing on the screen, but if you do this while it's connected to the computer, you can hear/see it in itunes).

Open it back up and disconnect the cable labeled 1. Then blow on it or wipe it off and connect it again. Be sure this cable is completely connected. On my iPhone this cable is always a booger and does not want to snap on very well. It took me several tries to connect it properly. When you do get it on there with a responsive snap when you push it down, reset it again and it should work. If it doesn't then its possible you messed something else up, but more likely that the screen is faulty.

Update

My cable #1 will pop open very easily as soon as i open the phone.

It has never popped off when it is closed

you could have just bought a new glass for the front which is less than $10, since (i think) cable 1 connects to the touch screen glass.

ok were getting somewhere. I did this and managed to get it to flash white, then at some point i saw the home screen but inverted or something, the background was white instead of black and everything really streaky. Now that ive set the screen back in it doesnt go white anymore but still the number 1 cable pops out super easy, even when snapped in, im hoping its an issue with the flex cable bit rather than the socket on the logic board. Ive ordered a new full front assembly from ebay hoping this would fix it.

It has to do with the glue in the screen

it is yellow before it dries. It will get better in a few days

if it does not, then it has to do with the back light, and you have the worst luck ever
