Remove broken screw from retaining bracket

Inside my MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2008, model A1260) there are 2 screws that hold down the hard drive retaining bracket. One of the screw heads broke off, leaving the entire screw in the bracket with nothing to cling onto. I am now unable to remove the screw, which in turn won't allow me access to remove the hard drive. Is there a way to remove the broken screw?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is the head completely gone or is the torx "round" ?

whe the head is completely gone, it would be the easiest thing to remove the drive - without the head - it can hold nothing

but when the head is still there, but round - use a screwdriver that almost not fits on the screw (a little bit larger than the round hole) - press it in the screw and screw carefully - that way i always get the dead torxes out (ok, to be honest - i do something more often than others and in hardes cases - i use my dremel ;-) )

The screw head completely broke off. The screw stem is screwed into the retaining bracket holding it securely in place.
