My iPhone screen display washed out colors how can I repair?

After having a water accident with my iPhone I was able to recover it to start up normally after a couple of weeks but the screen now display everything kind of washed out, everything is whiter. Can I repair this on the software side or do I need to do a hardware repair?

there is no way to fix it with software

you need to disassemble the phone and clean the connectors and the "odd" looking parts (white/greenish residue) with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and a soft paintbrush, check all connectors. the residue is conductive and that shortens the parts. fluid damages are spreading like cancer - if you don't do anything, the phone dies.
