Broken Screen, Big black spot on it?

Today I was belting in my 3 year old son and my knee was on the phones screen, when I picked the phone up, the screen was not cracked but instead there was a big black spot on it, taking up the whole screen except for the top, I can still see the time but the rest of the screen is just black. Is this fixable? I have seen many videos on how to repair a cracked screen, but nothing on this issue.

chrizysnoop, that is a broken LCD. you will need to replace the LCD to fix it. Here is the guide for it.
