Did anything other than the screen break?

I got a Z1 compact 4 months ago and dropped it about 2 feet onto a carpet floor (pictures included). Most of the screen doesn't respond properly and glitches heavily whenever I touch it, rendering it unusable.

Now, I'm completely new to phone repairs so I just wanted to ask if I'm correct in assuming that only the screen/digitizer/LCD broke. Can I just replace the screen assembly and call it a day or could something else be broken? Is there a way to find out if the rest of the hardware is still intact?
