How do I erase the hard drive in order to update with 10.4.11 span disk 1-3?

updating would integrate the ols installation in the new installation - if you want to get rid of the ols installation, load disk 1 and run the setup, it will tell you to restart the iBook and the installation process will start - when you want to delete the onld installation, open utilities/disk utility and erase the hard drive, when it's done, close the disk utility and follow the instructions on the screen
