I just bought a new hard drive for my mac book pro 13" A1278.
When I go to recover the old hard drive info using with my back up (time machine), utilities doesn't see the new hard drive.
Question? Did I miss some component that I had to buy in order for my new hard drive to be connected to the computer?
Assuming that I have connected the drive properly.

To start with are you able to boot up with a bootable OS with the system? Are you then able to access the drive using Apples Disk Utility?

Can you give us the last four digits of your systems serial number so we can identify which model you have Apple made quite a few different versions of this system.
