WIll 2012 MBA motherboard fit into 2011 MBA's housing?

I need to replace my MacBook Air's motherboard (2011, 13' inch) now that I have the chance I was thinking of buying a 2012 MBA's motherboard, as it is better in a number of ways. Will that be possible?

Thanks

Generally you can not cross model years swapping logic boards (and may other parts). That rule holds true in this case. Use the "compatibility" link on the top right of the page.

Have you actually tried this though? To me, it looks like the 2012 board has the same connectors in the same locations as the 2012. Just saying that it may not be *intended* to be compatible, but it might be anyway...

Nope didn't try to - 'cuz I can read a parts catalog. If the board would fit other years the catalog would list them If you find out otherwise then by all means come post
