Where to buy an iPhone 5 logic board on EE in UK?

Hi,

My iphone 5 has a charging problem exibiting symtoms common to a broken U2 IC. I sent it to MendmyI who replaced the u2 IC but this did not fix the problem. They returned the phone saying they could not fix it.

Id like to either have a go at replacing the motherboard myself or find someone who will do this for a reasonable price.

Can you recommend a retailer who could provide a iphone 5 motherboard suitable for a phone on EE network?

Can you recomend a company who will replace the motherboard for me?

btw ive used your guides to replace 2 broken iphone 4 screens and batteries on both iphone 4 and 5 and they have been brilliant, so many thanks for your great work.

Kind regards

Replacing the logic board isn't difficult, you will be able to do it yourself the problem is logic boards are not easily bought, you can try finding them on eBay but I wouldn't bother. I'd just get the problem fixed. Who tried to fix your phone?

Thanks for your responce. It was mendmyi, who are apparently "the UK's leading repair and spare parts specialist for all things Apple". Incidently when i got the phone back at least three screws were missing and one of the internal screws has been replaced with a pentalobe screw, maybe just whatever was laying around (I speculate). On a positive note thought they operate a no fix no fee policy so i only paid for postage.

That's terrible, surely not?

There's no excuse for missing or wrong screws from a company that reputes to be the UK's leader, sounds like a very shoddy outfit to me.

Agreed. I can't even throw the tape away that hides the screws. I always reattach it and make sure it stays closest to original as possible, that is a poor job and I would question them about it.
