My info system does not come on.

I dont believe there are any blown fuses. the screen just went dark one day as I was driving.

Probably a cracked solder joint on one of the pins going to the connector. This happens all the time with the VICs in these. If you're good with a soldering iron you could try reflowing the solder joints, but be aware there is a slight rubbery coating over them that needs to be scraped off, otherwise they don't tend to solder well.

My Vehicle Information Display started flickering as I was driving , then was working fine for a couple weeks, then became intermittent for a long time before going dark completely.

Went to a junk yard, and pulled one out of a wrecked '96 Grand Cherokee.

Accessing the old one was not easy. It's too long and involved to go into here, but is explained with photos in any mechanics guide for the '96 Jeep. So it was replaced, reset and works wonderfully !!!
