I am sorry to hear that. Just may be you could give us some more information. Things like what kind of car it is, what kind of engine it has, what kind of transmission it has, how many miles are on it, and lastly what you have tried to fix it. There is a certain importance in providing all vital information to receive a decent answer.

HECI Accel Coil packs cause stock sparkplug wire failures. This is especially damaging to other electrical systems, including the ABS computer

Have you tried a simple tuneup. New plugs, wires ,fuel filter ,air filter ,pcv, . If theres a mil light on read the codes it will probably be able to explain the misfire which in fords is usually a coil pack

You might also want to check your engine timing . It sounds like it could be a timing chain or belt (depending on the engine)

If it were mine, I'd take it to an AutoZone and get a free computer read out. Then you'll have a much better idea of what's wrong.

If you have had a tune up done recently, IE, spark plug replacement, HECI Accel Coil pack, Remove the plug wires one at a time while the engine is off and examine them for damage caused by electrical discharge through the plug wire insulation, it will look burnt and like something bursted out from the middle of the wire. I had this happen to me after installing and Accel Coil Pack, the Plugs were bad and the HECI discharge was too much for the wire/plug causing a massive energy burst to the engine ground system, this was causing major power drops on the freeway making the engine feel bogged down.

Find the bad wire, replace the wires with High performance wires and plugs which are necessary when using and HECI coil pack, Cheers.

I would check the coil pack, I was having an intermittent missfire that became worse until the cylinder was completely out. It turns out my coil pack had cracked and allowed moisture to get in. I would start cheap checking and replacing the plug wires and spark plugs. Reading the plugs after pulling them will give you some indication of whats going on. If you don’t have a code reader handy to find out which cylinder has the missfire you can user a laser temperature gauge to check the temperature of your exhaust manifold at each cylinder. The missfiring cylinder will read cooler.
