Purple tint after removing the front glass

Hello, I tried this guide: Samsung Galaxy S4 Cracked Front Glass Replacement

To replace my S4 glass.

I managed to remove the glass, but the screen had a different color in one zone. I was concerned about it, so I tried turning it on, and I found that it that area the screen is purple-ish.

What can I do about it? Do I have to buy the whole assembly to replace everything?

Touchscreen works even in that area, so I guess it's not the digitizer. Maybe something can be done software-wise to balance the wrong color?

Hi Cero,

Unfortunately, that looks to be some damage to the display caused during glass removal. Very few times does this go away over time and most often then not a new display assembly is required.

Same issue here. Did you fix it? Was also told it's the "glue" used to replace screen glass and that it will go away eventually???

If it really was the glue, cleaning it off the screen should solve the issue then.

Yip, not the glue at all... they clearly damaged the display and the touch is unresponsive in places
