Well, that's kinda complicated. First, heat up the LCD assembly to soften the adhesive between the LCD and touch screen. Then wedge a molybdenum wire between the LCD and touch screen, gently pull the wire with both sides, you'll see the touch screen being separated from the LCD bit by bit. If there's too much resistance when pulling, heat up the screen again. Remember to wear gloves to protect your hands being hurt by the molybdenum wire during the separation.

heat and time and be careful there is a high chance of damaging the LCD its better to replace both at the same time because they are held together with loca it is far less risky to use a lcd/digitizer combo im not saying this is the cheep way but its the safer way.

How do you replace both the LCD and the glass face? Who does this kind of repair as I'm getting a bit wobbly in my retirement and don't have the skills I once had.

You get a replacement display (also called a "digitizer" in many parts order websites), which will already have the glass on it. That repair is significantly less difficult. Be aware that you will have to move the speaker from the old display to the new one, that tripped me up with I did this myself.

After, the new glass is glued with LOCA, but not all glasses are compatible and it can happen that do not work the capacitive keys.

Has anyone done this?

To the idiot cristalloveshawk : If you ask how to fix your car engine, and someone just says, "You need some kind of kit with tools," then that is just moronic. No $hit sir Sherlock! Thanks master of the obvious! And what does the year 2015 have to do with anything? Is this the year of stupidity? I guess so. If someone asks a question, then you answer it logically, truthfully and with a specificity dictated by the situation. You don't respond like a blithering idiot just wasting everyone's time! Duh.

Most of what you are looking for in the way of How To is posted here:

Samsung Galaxy S4 Cracked Front Glass Replacement

Sadly, they refer to other guides (like YouTube) for instructions on how to use LOCA adhesive to attach the glass to the LCD.

And your lucky I pointed you in the right direction. You're kind of a dick.

I already did it myself once I realized there were so many crybaby morons like toddgardiner on here. People are too stupid to realize that if they don't know the answer to a question to just STFU and let someone who knows what they're talking about respond.
