Can't adjust brightness after digitizer replacement.

After replacing my digitizer, I turned on my phone and everything worked perfectly. Camera, wifi, touchscreen, etc. However, the screen itself is very bright and I can no longer control the brightness. When I lower it in settings, the screen does not get any dimmer. In addition, the phone is heating up very rapidly at the top. What did I do wrong? Can someone please help? Thank you!!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Turn auto brightness off and see if you can control it. could be an ambient light issue/not sitting properly.

I have tried turning the auto brightness on and off and it has not helped. Could it still be the ambient light sensor in that case? Because the new screen I bought did not have the the little housing for it. I took it off the old digitizer and did not glue it to the new one. I was guessing this was the issue, but I wanted to ask here before going in again and super gluing it to the new digitizer.

Don't worry, I've missed out the glue and it has never been a problem. Have you tried connecting your old LCD to see if you can adjust the brightness?

Unfortunately I threw out the old LCD. I went back in and glued the housing for the camera and made sure all the ribbon cables were attached. Still didn't fix it. I turned auto brightness on and the feature actually works, like the setting for brightness adjusts to the brightness in the room. Problem is that the actual brightness of the phone is not changing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
