Took off bottom cover now eject button doesn't work.

I too off the bottom cover to do some basic cleaning of my system (yes it was out of warranty). Everything works fine now except I can't eject the disc straight from the console. I can still power-up with no problems. Any ideas on a solution to this one? I can eject from the controller with no problems.

The most likely cause of this problem is either that the bottom case is not totally snapped into place or there is also a small metal piece that goes from the plastic button that you touch to a copper pad on the optical drive board. If that metal tab is bent or broken then it won't be making contact and that will make it so it won't eject discs.

I'd check to make sure that it's snapped down all the way first, then remove the cover again and check that metal tab.

I hope this helps!
