switch on/off button behaviour

When I connect the machine to the mural socket, without pressing the button, the fan run, the light available on the mother board shine

BUT nothing is sent to the monitor.

If I press the on/off button, it shine but stop when I leave it.

May I think that there is a problem with the small card linked to the button or is it an alim one or a motherboard one ?

Thanks in advance.

Oops, I forgot to say : no bell ringing when I connect to the socket and when I press the button.

BINGO

I got it.

I always thought that pressing the motherboard reset button with the macine connected was a wrongdoer.

This time, I did that and bingo, the fan stopped the red light no longer shine.

I pressed the on/off button and it behaved flawlessly.

So, now my wife is playing Shangaï on it.

Hope that this may help some one.

Chosen Solution

Yes

doing a PMU and or PRAM reset can solve strange behaviors... careful pressing that CUDA switch, too many presses or pressing twice in a row can hose the board.
