After digitizer replacement, touchscreen doesn't work anymore

After i replaced my broken digitizer only the home button works - the touchscreen does not. Does anyone have a clue what that could be?

By changing the digitizer i cut through the old digitizer cable, not thinking about that there was still the battery connected - could that have caused the problem. If yes, how can i fix it?

I would say it's a faulty screen you have recived just make sure cables are connected properly and disconnect the battery before you disconnect cables

If I don't disconnect the battery, is that will burn the cables?
