screen replacement worked but won't detect finger touch

I have replaced the screen on the ipod 4 and the screen works and it powers off and the sound works and voice control works, however, it won't detect my finger to either 1) swipe 2) put in a passcode or 3) go into the camera, it will play music through voice control though. I want to be able to back it up in itunes but itunes needs the passcode and that's the major issue I have, i want to be able to back it up.

Second major question--how can I back it up in itunes without a passcode or with the passcode from the computer since I can't put the passcode into the ipod?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Make sure the digitzer cable is seeded 100% ifs difficult because of the position of it under the logicboard once you think it's in correct push down on the logicboard directly above were cable is located and it will clip into place

awesome, i took it apart again and focused on the digitizer and now i get a white screen. I might have kinked the cable a bit but it's not torn.

is there a way to put in the passcode from the itunes computer so i can back it up?

I would try disconnecting then re-seating the connectors, then hard re-booting your iPod before just throwing the old screen away.

If you're lucky and it works again, make sure to fold the flat cable in a zig-zag manner (2 or 3 folds, can't remember for sure) so that it sites between (the edge of the iPod) from top, and (the upper edge of the metal plate) from bottom; otherwise, it get squeezed between he LCD and the metal plate underneath it when gluing the assembly back in place..

josephfchadwick---try a new screen--you'll get it. iTouch screens go bad in a hurry, they are kind of prissy like that.
