Dead keyboard even with new topcase.

My MacBook's keyboard and track-pad stopped working following the last OS update. All works well with an external keyboard and mouse but no amount of p-ram of power-unit resets helped. Booting from an external device also made no difference. In the end I concluded it must be a keyboard fault and fitted a new topcase. No luck.

My next step would be to reinstall the OS before I do does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks

Software reinstall has made no difference. Keyboard and trackpad are still dead. Any thoughts please?

If you have tried a new keyboard

and looked at the cable ends to ensure good contact try an external USB keyboard they have some soft and folding ones.

If the USB external keyboard does not work sell the machine for parts, put that $ with what you'd spend on repair and get a new(er) laptop.

One option left: new logic board.

But that will be a huge investment.
