Blank screen on switch on.

iPhone 4 has completely dead screen but will ring when called. Sliding to answer has no effect. Power off/on does not show any change to display. Is it more likely to be screen or logic board?

Greg, did the phone get dropped, and if so did the screen crack? Or did you recently get a repair done by a repair shop or did you replace the screen yourself? Also did it get water damaged? You can find this out by looking in the headphone jack and middle of the charge port and looking for a red/pink dot (headphone jack) and strip (charge port). If it is red/pink then it has water damage, if its white then you do not have water damage. (FYI charge port water damage indicator is usually covered by dust, lint, dirt, etc. to clean this out try compressed air or a very thin wooden toothpick to get any dirt/lint out).

Thanks Alec for your answer but it appears that the phone was left out in the sun 30+ degrees C for several hours and went into thermal shutdown. After 24 hour cooldown it suddenly came alive and is now working just fine. Thanks for your interest.
