Logic board upgrade to mid 2010 or newer.

I have a mid 2009 macbook pro with a defective logic board. Is it possible to install a newer logic board int it?

No - sorry but as a rule you can not cross model years.
You can use the fastest board of a model year, or drop back to a slower one if the one you have is not available.
