Lock button takes screenshots when pressed. Camera does not work.

Hello,

I have got an iPhone 5 in from a customer. It has been to a previous repair shop. So far I have diagnosed these problems:

The home button is squinty (easy fix, just shows it has been poorly repaired)

The iPhone housing is slightly bent

The front camera freezes at the blurry image.

The rear camera either does the same as the front camera or works, but with the image side on.

The iPhone has signs of water damage

The logic board sticker just above the sim tray is scratched

The SIM tray plastic is slightly melted at the top

Several screws were missing.

Does anyone have any advice? I have tried cleaning the board in Alcohol like with any other water damaged device. Do any chips on the logic board need replaced? If so, what ones? Ive heard this is a difficult task? (Im only 15, and have never gone to the depths of any board work apart from reflowing the WiFi IC on an iPhone 4S)

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks, Sam.

Hi,

I had exact same issue with my iPhone 5. I bought and replaced home button and home button wiring. the issue still existed, so I opened it again and found out dome issues with home button contact points on phone side (next to battery). After I fixed them, its been working fine so far
