Why do I keep getting CHKDSK message?

I get the message and it does a scan but quits when it is 58% done. then it goes to the blue screen and does a crash dump. Is this fixable and if so how?

What model HP laptop do you have? what OS are you using? Any recent hardware or software updates?

Yes, this is fixable.

To start with have you added, upgraded or removed any programs just before this started happening? Often a DDL is replaced or removed that shouldn't have.

Do you have the recovery CD/DVD disks that came with your system (sometimes you need to order them)?

You also may have a recovery partition on your HD you could try rebooting off of the recovery partition to try to fix the missing file/s.

You could also try launching in safe mode. Follow this MS Technote: Start your computer in safe mode.

I seems like you have added or remove any program on your computer and that's why your dll file got currupted. so in this situation you need to go ahead and restart your computer in safe mode. and then you need to run "sfc /scannow". once you will run and then you need to restart your computer.

now it should start working fine.
