What is the problem when your iPod wont charge and it keeps showing you a little charactter looking sick !

in the cases i've seen - the sick iPod character comes when the hard drive failed. a sign for a dead harddrive is the missing spinnig sound - i don't know if you could hear the harddrive when the case is closed - when the drive is ok, you could hear and feel the spinning drive - when the drive is dead - there is no sound & no vibration coming from the drive
