very challanging restore situation 4s error 1 error 3194

Hi,

I just purchased and IPHONE 4s from Ebay 16GB

Seller said it was stuck to Itune connect loop

I took it off from recovery mode through an APP

downloaded ITUNES and tried to recover to latest firmware

but then got error 1

I then try to recover it on over older firmware and then got another error 3194 (please don't tell me to fix the host file in WIN 7 and I have already checked it and there is nothing in there.)

each time different error

Also I don't know how and where I can find some SHSH blob for this phone to downgrade it to earlier firmware.

Also I was wondering could this be due to faulty LOGIC Board ? even if I replace it can i still update/restore to latest firm where or do I need to find SHSH blob for it as well.

Please help I will highly appreciate it.

One important thing when I updated from latest Itune it did pick up and the apple logo progress bar showed up however it got stuck at 755 and gave error 1

This is a hardware fault--have s look at the board and see if you can find the damage, you may get lucky. Forget about shsh blobs, you gotta fix that board!

I am suspecting the same that its the board fixing the board means buying a second hand working phone :)

It is not possible to downgrade iPhone 4s, with or without SHSH blob. So if you try any version other than the latest one , you'll always get error 3194.

I have read about it too that error 1 is not fixible but then why am I getting the other error when I update it to other lower level firmware.

So could be this be a logic board problem ?

Hi,

Have you tried changing the battery?

I once had a error 1 because of a faulty battery and changing it fixed my problem

I tried to charge it first for a good 1 hour or so to be sure battery is full before performing the upgrade phone seems to turn on and everything however I get these error as mention. I think its the board. But I will keep your tip in mind.

error 3194 is not a hardware fault message. its a 'host' error.

TCP/IP settings of ur internet connection error

exit iTunes...

Locate your hosts file in Windows c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Use notepad to open the hosts file with Administrator privileges

Add the following line to the very bottom of the hosts file:

#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

if 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com is already exist then in the host file you need to add # just before it #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

then restart pc & try again...

Is one of the most confusing error some people say its hardware fault and some says ite the host file based on my research.But thanks for posting and sharing :)
