Can you give us some more details. Like why did you open up the system in the first place or did the system fall over breaking the screen.

Lmatina, yes you have had a shortcircuit. You will have to stop using your iMac, remove the board. Clean it off with isopropyl alciohol and a soft brush. Then you need to evaluate all the traces, and you are missing some components on the board. This repair is a major undertaking. You can try and have it fixed or replace the board. Let us know which way you want to go with that and what your capabilities are.

part description

the parts you are missing are L9000 which is a 250ohm filter bead. From what I can find it is a 0805 package and something like this should fit. The other part is R9227, a resistor in a 402 package. Please remember that you need to clean everything first, double check all your traces. post another image once you have done that so we can help you check your solder pads etc.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem before changing HD drive. Can you please tell me if you fixed the issue with the new resistor and where can I buy it.

Best regards.
