Screen won't stay attached

I just changed the battery and lightning port in my iphone 5. Everything went good till i reassembled it. When I put the screen assembly back in place it didn't seat down all the way and the power button wouldn't work. I just assumed that I had something that didn't go down all the way before I put the screen assembly back in. I decided to remove the screen assembly again and check it all. When I went to remove the assembly it just pulled the actual led part of the assembly. Now it won't stay down because of the adhesive being removed and I can't get the assembly out. What do I do about this?

Hey JT so it sounds like you removed the glass accidentally from the plastic frame which secures the screen. Ideally I would do what Eric recommended and get a new screen. However if your on a budget and need it fixed now, super glue should help. Apply it sparingly around the frame make sure your securing the frame properly to the glass otherwise it may not seat right when you try to put it back together. And make sure you remove the screen when attempting this, then re-install it after glue has been applied and dried.

Super glue dries in seconds and is unforgiving so exercise caution.

How hard is it to remove the screen and assembly separately?

Just remove the screen like normal, but if the frame is staying down when your lifting the screen assembly up, use a thin pry tool to get between the iPhones frame and the plastic screen frame and pop the clips between the two, popping the clips on the plastic bezel will set the screen free.

After removed, apply super glue to the plastic frame so it bonds to the glass. Once your satisfied with how well the frame is down, let is dry then reassemble the phone.

It sounds like the backlight from the replacement display assembly got pulled off a bit. This happens occasionally and most times I would send the part back as being defective (if not caused by your error) rather than try and make it work. You can have uneven lighting, light leakage and other issues if you try to make the screen work.

The easiest option is to get another screen assembly and carefully install it, making sure the clearance is not hindered by anything. How is the frame?

I didn't have a replacement assembly. There was nothing wrong with my screen assembly. The screen pulled loose when I tried to take the assembly out a 2nd time and now it won't stay in place. I don't think there is anything wrong with the frame.

When the digitizer and LCD actually separate from the plastic frame, the best thing to do is remove them from the device, and with the strongest and thinnest adhesive you have, reapply the screen to the rest of the frame, give it time to set before reassembling the phone as well, these repairs are simple, but if you're not sure what you're doing, a lot can easily go wrong.

This is happening quite a lot to me, I noticed the glass is being seperated FAR too easy on 3rd party screens. Separating them should be a difficult task, not something that can be done with a suction cup alone. I've noticed the difference with buying cheaper 3rd party screens.
