Connectors on display assembly 6 or 11 pins?

I am replacing my display assembly on my late 2013 mac book pro a1502 emc2678. Whilst ordering the new assembly the supplier has ask if the current assembly has 6 or 11 pins. Can anyone answer this please?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

dan, what connector are you exactly referring to. Obviously not the LVDS connector?

Sorry but I am unsure what connector they are referring to their email is as follows:

This Macbook has assembled 2 different screens.

One with connections of 40 Pin and 6 Pin and the other one with 40 PIn and 11 PIn.

Please check your connections and let us know which one you need.

Regards

Dan

I actually have both MacBooks... the iSight camera on the mid 2013 MacBook Pro Retina has a 6 pin connector, and the mid 2014 MacBook Pro Retina has 11... I know the question is old, but hope that helps.

If you have the back off the display (you'll have to do that eventually anyway) on the bottom there's a manufacturers tag with part and model information. The vendor should be able to cross reference from that to identify which screen you need.

I would want a grantee from the vendor that you will not be charged restock or return fees if you do this and still get a wrong part. Also if you pay with credit card or Paypal they will help you if a dispute arises. . . if you write a check you're on your own.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it accepted.

That's not completely true. I have a late 2013 model (pro 15) and it has a 6 pin camera cable (not 12pin)

All vendors state that is impossible but reality is I have.

Now finding a screen that works mine had been the hardest part.

The backlight is not working on replacement units but works fine with the original broken LCD.

They are referring to the camera flex cable. Late 2013 / 2014 models have an 11 pin cable whilst the earlier models have a 6 pin cable.
