MacBook 1,1 panel in MacBook 3,1 housing

Can a Macbook 1,1 display panel (mid 2006) replace the display panel in a late 2007 Macbook 3,1? Originally I thought I would just swap the entire lids, but the airport antennas are different. Are the display panels themselves compatible?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Okay, I've found my answer--I have to use the inverter cable from the 3,1 (penryn/santa rosa) on the LCD panel from the 1,1 for this to work. The panels swap fine--it's the inverter cable that makes it messy.

Yes - the parts are compatible. I tried to answer and place a link to powerbook medic dot com which verified that the screens are the same on several of these models but the bot keeps deleting it as Spam because either the answer was too brief, or, there was a link to another parts catalog. So I guess you'll have to use Google (as I did) or go over to that site and do the comparison for yourself.
