Why won't HP Photosmart C4680 AIO Printer take normal printer paper?

I've had my printer since about 2009 when it came with my macbook pro and there have always been quirks like sucking in more than one sheet at times but it has always worked in the end. However, after recently replacing my ink cartridges and completing the calibrating print and scan, it suddenly wont take any more paper. I can see and hear the rollers moving but the paper doesn't go in and the printer keeps displaying "out of paper". Do I need to replace my rollers or is there just some jiggling around of parts I can do to make it work on my own? At this point the value of the printer is so low, i'm wondering what my printer maintenance options are.
