Not charging new batteries

Need help,

left my 2010 macbook pro 17 alone for 2 weeks and it doens´t work on battery anymore, since the charger light is always green and the computer boots fine trought the wall charger i assumed it was the battery that was faulty, after all it has 4 years. I bought a new oem battery but still the computer refuses to charge, it boots fine trought the charger but not from the battery, i exchanged the oem baterry with another and the same thing all over again, no way to get it to charge! any ideas anyone!!!!

You said OEM - was it from Apple? Laptop batteries have been know to be faulty right out of the box, especially cheap Chinese knock-offs. Apple would exchange batteries yet again or should be able to guarantee the issue is not the battery. If it wasn't an Apple battery talk to your vendor again.

What does System Information (power) have to say about the state of the battery? Does it recognize it's there, does it think it's charging?
