iPhone 5 screen not fitting/slotting into the housing/fascia.

Hello,

I've moved all the components of a damaged iPhone 5 into a new housing and it all works great. However I cannot seem to slot in or place the iPhone 5 screen into position.

The bottom part and sides of the iPhone 5 screen fits in no problem, however the top part of the screen does not fit into the housing. I unfortunately eventually applied enough pressure to crack the screen. It still turns and works great; only the top has a minor crack, no damage to the LCD or digitiser.

I'm going to replace it with a new screen, but what should I do to avoid this from occurring next time? Even with the amount of pressure I applied it didn't move down any further.

Thank you very much. :)

Look at the screen at the top there is 3 plastic brackets and these need installed under the frame .. Top of the screen needs fitted at about a 30degree angle you will see the screen at the top line up flush with the frame.. Now the bottom of the screen will be slightly raised put pressure on it upwards as if you pushing the screen flusher against the frame.. Then push down the entire left side and the bottom left should pop in then the other side with slot in no problem.. Hope that makes sense

Thank you very much! I didn't realise that, I tried it again and it fit in perfect. Unfortunately however I had already cracked the screen, so I'll ensure I insert the top part of the screen first next time. For others with the same issue, holding your screen at a 30 degrees angle (bottom part being the top of the screen), insert this into your housing (it's below the housing's bevel/frame); then push in the slides and eventually the bottom. I hope it works out for all of you! :D

Does the metal frame look dented in any corners

Fortunately no, they're all perfectly straight and curved on corners. Here's a picture of the housing before inserting all the components: http://imgur.com/xHwp9XU The housing is for the iPhone 5 and it's a Space Grey/5S-like colour.

Thank you very much for your reply though. :)
