Power passed to MacBook air through USB port

In an attempt to upgrade firmware to one of my GoPro gimbal, I connected with batteries to USB port and switched on the gimbal, MBA went off immediately and never started. What can go wrong or how to restore?

Post a couple of High-Res images of your logic board with your question. It sounds to me like you overloaded the USB circuitry and may hopefully just blown up a few components.

It sounds like something more than a powered device issue.

What normally happens is the fuse link at the USB port burns out but the data connection still works. It sounds like the power was feed to the USB ports data lines.

Have you tried doing a hard reset to see if the system recovers. If that didn't work you may have killed your logic board.
