Replace Earpiece Speaker and Speaker Microphone

Hey guys,

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4, and when on speaker phone, the other person can't hear me, and when I'm not on speakerphone, I can only JUST hear something, the volume is very low.

So I basically believe the Microphone used when on speakerphone (unsure where this is) and the earpiece speaker are broken.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide where I can replace these items?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

That'll usually fix it although sometimes it will be a main board issue.. rarely though.

heres the disassemble guide

Samsung Galaxy S4 Display Assembly Replacement

step 20 is what you will be replacing for the ear peice, however microphone and speaker come from the bottom of the phone.

If memory serves me correct on this phone

Samsung Galaxy S4 Speaker Enclosure Replacement

This is the guide for that one... While inside the phone I suggest taking a Q tip and IPA alcohol and cleaning ALL connections, then letting dry before putting back together. It'll dry rather quick, do NOT touch the contacts with your finger after cleaning them, if you do re clean them.. the oil and crap from your fingers can be enough to cause a issue on connections.

Thanks for such a thoughtful and detailed answer! I should be able to manage the earpiece speaker following the disassembly guide.

Does the speaker enclosure replace the microphone by your knowledge? When it's on speaker phone, the receiving caller can't hear me. but they can when not on speaker phone, which leads me to believe there's separate microphones for the different modes.
