Forgot admin password, reset USB did not work, HELP!

I managed to get a friend to lend me his password reset disk on a USB for Windows 7, problem is I was able to reset a password for a local account but it did not let me reset the password for the admin account. It gave me an error saying "An error occurred while the wizard was attempting to set the password for this user account" I don't exactly know what this means but if anything I do not have a password reset disk that I've made myself. I've tried almost all of the recommended downloads and sites for password cracking but I've gotten no luck from them at all. I am completely clueless as of now seeing that I have no idea what I should do next. P.S My CD Driver is non responsive.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Check out Microsoft's website and you'll find out that the password reset disk can only be used with the computer it was created on.

If you haven't created a password reset disk beforehand, try the PCUnlocker program (http://www.top-password.com) which can run from a USB drive and reset a lost Windows password. Good luck!

What i don't understand is why the USB can reset a password for a local account, but it didn't reset the admin password ? i can't tell if it's a USB bug , anyway , to crack the password from your Admin account , you can install this program on another computer and burn a new bootable USB to reset the password .

Hello, this only works on condition that the password reset disk is created on the locked computer in advance. But don't worry you have other options to reset your forgotten admin password. Here is a quick way to remove your Windows 7 password. Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool Ultimate on any available computer.

Step 2: Insert a boot-able CD/DVD or a USB flash drive on the computer. In the pop-up window, select “Reset Windows local account password”, choose your CD/DVD or USB flash drive, and click “Burn”.

Step 3: Start you PC and insert the newly created CD/DVD or USB flash dive on the PC.

Step 4: After the program initializing, choose the Windows installation, select administrator account, enter a password, click “Reset” and “OK” in the pop-up windows and click “Reboot”.

Hey, you can follow the steps below to fix your problem:

1. Download and launch Windows Password Recovery Tool on another workable computer. Then insert a USB flash drive into the workable computer, and burn an ISO image file to the device with Quick Recovery or Advanced Recovery Wizard.

2. Pull out the created password reset disk and insert it into the locked computer, and set BIOS to boot the locked computer from the disk.

3. Then you will see interfaces of Windows Password Recovery Tool, follow the instructions on them to reset your forgotten Windows 7 admin password.
