I want to use my multimeter to test a battery. The banana plugs are attached and cords are attached to the device, but the screen is not reading anything. My device is turned on and seems to be functioning otherwise.

The reading screen is either broken or malfunctioning. You may need to replace the screen. See screen replacement guide here. If this does not seem to fix the problem, you may have an issue with the motherboard. Click here to see how to replace the motherboard.

I'm all for fixing stuff and keeping it working, but Harbor Freight literally gives these meters away. They're not worth fixing. i have a stack of spare ones still in the package waiting to be used.
