Where this little part came out from?

I had to replace the analog stick caps and after putting the controller together again it works perfectly, however a little plastic (rubber) part was left out as I couldn't find its place, and none of the guides show where it belongs. I would like to put it back to its place whether it has any purpose or not. This is it: http://pbrd.co/1rUppwn

Hey. I just had the same problem. It belongs on the back side of the controller casing, on the interior. It is used for pressing the contact site of the reset button. The side that is flat lies flat against the casing, the side that is 'pokey' faces away from the casing and toward the board.

If you have another controller, you can (slowly) take it apart and see exactly how it is supposed to sit.
