Rubbing alcohol, and a unresponsive iPhone.
Okay guys, kind of a weird and oddly specific question for you today. about 4-5 months back i was working on a dirt bike (I'm a mechanic by trade) and had my iphone 5 on the work bench next to a bottle of rubbing alcohol. I somehow managed to knock the bottle over and spill it all over my phone. the iphone didn't glitch or anything, i just had these weird more grey kind ripples under the screen and a few very bright spots. after a bit the screen stopped displaying picture and was just backlight but when i called it it would ring and i could hear the unlock noise when i touched the screen and slid. i did the classic in a bowl of rice method, and the next morning i had a couple issues with it but it worked fine for the most part, but i shut it off and let it sit for 4 more days just in case. since it has worked just as it should but under the screen you could still make out the wavy sorta grey marks an the bright spots. probably 4 days ago they got about as bad as the day after it happened, and tonight i just sat it down unlocked playing Netflix and when i came back probably 45 seconds later, no picture again. Just back light. the sound was still going and when i call it it will receive the call regularly but im not completely sure if the screen still responds to touch as i since added a passcode and turned vibrating when touched off. it is currently in the rice again, but it hasnt gotten wet or covered in any type of chemical since. any ideas? does it need a full lcd replacement? its quite important to get it back working. my job just about relies on the pictures i take when i disassemble and put things back together and there is a little over 22,000 of them on it right now. thank you guys so much for the help in advance.
Is this a good question?
