Crushed the phone, trying to resurrect. Need some advice?

My wife got her phone crushed by a horse. I've replaced the entire display assembly and the battery. When the device is plugged into a charger, the green LED in the earpiece lights up, but the device will never boot. A visual inspection of the mainboard doesn't reveal any obvious damage, but I'm willing to do some exploring.

TL;DR; My wife's phone was stepped on by a horse. She never backed her stuff up. I'm trying to fix it.
