Colored vertical lines on screen...

Ok so I have replaced screens on many iPhones before this one. This is the only iPhone I have had so many problems with. I don't use aftermarket screens when I fix a phone so I figured thats not the problem. Well I than put the screen and everything back together and then I get the white squares at the bottom of the screen. I was puzzled because this has never happened to me before. So I re-opened the phone and made sure everything was connected and it was. Then I boot up the phone and these colored lines appeared on the screen. The digitizer is un-responsive and I cannot figure out what is going on...

*It has also reset the date back to December 31, 1969... I have no clue why it does that...

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You have to view the original image to see the lines. In real life they are very noticeable. You can clearly see the white squares returning.

Of course you use aftermarket screens, we all do, it is the only available option.

And naturally, even the crappiest screen vendor claims to only sell "OEM" and "AAA" quality screens. I think it takes about a year doing cell phone repair full time to figure out how to navigate the sea of parts vendors and find true original quality at a reasonable price. Far more difficult than learning to fix phones for sure.

The white spots are common when the connector isn't seated perfectly and held in place firmly by the shield. The colored lines are a quality problem in the LCD.

This is a defective screen, a new screen will solve.

The time/date always resets to that date at battery disconnect, although there are some time/date issues with the 5c.
