Flashlight not as bright after flex cable replacement

I replaced my power button and flex cable on my iPhone 5. I followed all steps forward and in reverse, everything works but the flashlight is no longer bright. It still works but very dimly. I restored by iPhone and had the same problem. What step could I have missed or what could I have done wrong?

Connections could not be sitting fully, I would clean the connections with some IPA alcohol, let them dry then reconnect. I have also heard this happening from using the cheap knock off flex's as they don't use same quality for the LED for flash. Could also just be a defective part... Good luck!

That makes sense since I got it off amazon. I wanted one that had all the connectors attached (it was my first repair ever). Small price to pay for having the power button finally work. Thank you!

I just noticed the video recording speaker has static now. Would this also be because of the knock off flex cable or a loose/dirty connection?

I followed your advice, cleaned with alcohol prep pads, let them dry and put it back together. It works fabulously and good as new! Thank you so much for your help!
