Display hinge is broken. Is a replacement possible?

I used to have the bad habit of carrying my MacBook Pro around by the right edge of the display. As a result the right side of the display can now be moved up and down a fraction of an inch and the hinge is getting looser and looser by the week.

Does this sound like a problem that would be fixed with a new display or does it seem like the problem is with the body?

Getting to the hinges on the body side is not to difficult. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2012 Display Assembly Replacement. Stop at Step 10 which will have exposed both hinge sides. Get some fingernail polish to dab a small amount just under the screw head to help prevent it from loosing up and tighten the screws as needed making sure your lid is square.
