Chip HF/e1 found loose in iMac case

I was helping a friend replace the hard drive in his Imac. After removing the lcd screen I noticed a small chip loose in the upper left corner of the case not attached to any wire.... Weird right?

the chip is small, about 0.5" x 0.5", with a small 4 pin connector on it, and the most notable marking on it is "HF/e1"

Anyone know where it goes and what it connects too??

Imac is still apart, next step might be to install the hard drive and boot it up to see if any errors pop up.

Thanks in advance...
